Do you want to decide who our DFL-endorsed candidates will be for US Congress and Governor of Minnesota? Then make sure to attend DFL Precinct Caucuses Tuesday, February 2, at Oak-Land Junior High!

We usually begin gathering about 6 p.m., and get started with meetings at 7 p.m. This is local politics at its best: you get to meet with your neighbors in a precinct meeting, choose who in your precinct will help you organize activities leading up to the election, decide who will represent you at the senate district convention, and submit resolutions for ways you would like to change the party’s platform. There will also be a straw poll for the governor’s race, just to get a sense of which candidates people are supporting. It’s a great way to get involved!

You can save a little time when you arrive by checking which precinct you are in: just use the Caucus Finder tool from the Secretary of State. Keep in mind that if you live in southeastern Woodbury, your precinct may have changed: what was once precinct 12, became precincts 12, 14a and 14b last year, and is now precincts 12, 14 and 15.

While parking is limited, we will have a satellite parking lot at Cimmaron Golf Course (901 Lake Elmo Ave N) with a shuttle service and encourage you to carpool with your neighbors: it’s more fun that way anyhow!
