The Senate District 56 Board (Officially known as the Senate District 56 DFL Executive and Central Committees) is responsible for building and promoting the DFL in our area. SD56 does such things as locating and endorsing qualified candidates for elected positions (like state legislator), having a presence at local events like Woodbury Days, and trying to increase awareness of the DFL in general. Every month, the Board convenes to discuss our progress and vision for the future.
What are SD56’s goals?
Senate District 56 strives to make the area we live in a better place. More specifically, we have identified the following six points as being paramount tasks for our organization:
- Strong public schools
- A safe, clean environment
- Vital, healthy communities
- A fiscally responsible government
- Caring for those who cannot care for themselves
- Infrastructure that serves a growing population
What can I do to help?
There are numerous ways in which you can join Senate District 56 and begin making a difference in your community. Volunteering with Senate District 56 is a great way to help the DFL in your local area. Participate in our monthly meetings by attending and telling us how you want to change your neighborhood. Most importantly, ensure the security of our future by making sure that you vote each and every time the State of Minnesota asks you to. Without your contributions at the polls, it will make everyone’s tasks a lot more difficult moving forward.
